Bartolommeo Taliaferro was born about 1530 in Venice, Italy. He died 21 September 1601 in Canterbury, Kent, England.
He was a subject of the Duke of Venice. He paid 20 shillings for Denization in England on March 4, 1562. Lived in various parishes until his death. Buried September 22, 1601 at St. Olave's Hart Sreet, will dated 18 Sept 1601, proved 3 May 1602. Married Joane Lane 1 Jan 1583/4 at St. Michael's, Cornhill, London. She subsequently wed Thomas Gray of Whitechapel, County Middlesex, widower, 15 May 1602, at Olave's, Hart Street.
Will of Bartholomew Taliaferro:
To my four sons Scipio, Frauncis, Isack, and Jeromme, Two hundred pounds sterling when they shall be of age of Twenty; To Elizabeth my daughter, to be given at her marriage, sterling, meaning that she shall not marry until she or according to the will of her mother. To Jone my wife one hundred pounds sterling, if she does not, she is to have the profits of all my pounds when my sons are of the age of twenty one. I ordain my overseers of the things contained in this will; John Francisco Soprani and Fraunces Rizzo. I do give five pounds sterling to our parish of St. Olave and they shall discharge my family of the taxation so long as my wife, sons and daughter shall dwell there. In discharging them of said taxation they shall pay Unto Margery my servant five shillings sterling. I declare that I have two obligations of Cornelius; hundred pounds which is paid, but the other of one pounds is in force and is due to me. Made in the City of London the eighteenth day of; Subscribed in the presence of Jeromme Lopez Pompilio Valesi and William Parkyns.
He married Joane Lane. She was born about 1562 in Cornhill, London, Middlesex, England. She was the daughter of John Lane and Elinor.
